Dogs are “a man’s best friend” for a reason, acting as loyal companions and a source of comfort for so many of us. That’s why saying goodbye to a beloved dog is an incredibly difficult experience. And during a time filled with grief and uncertainty, having clear guidance and compassionate support can make a meaningful difference.
At Pet Cremation Services, our role is to care for your dog with dignity and respect while guiding you through each step of the aftercare process. For more than 25 years, families and veterinary clinics across Ohio have trusted us to provide timely, thoughtful service during one of life’s hardest moments.
Reaching Out to Pet Cremation Services
After your dog’s passing, you may contact Pet Cremation Services directly or ask your veterinarian to reach out on your behalf. Once we receive the call, a member of our care team will coordinate the next steps and arrange for your dog to be brought into our care following a process built on compassion and consistency.
Whether arrangements are made through a veterinary clinic or from home, our team is here to answer questions and offer calm, supportive guidance.
Choosing Cremation Services
Families may choose between private cremation or communal cremation, depending on their wishes.
With private cremation, your dog is cremated individually and their cremains are returned to you. With communal cremation, dogs are cremated together and the cremains are respectfully scattered. Our team takes the time to explain each option so you can make the decision that feels right for you.
Personalizing a Memorial for Your Dog
Honoring your dog’s life can be an important part of the healing process. We offer a variety of memorial options, including urns, paw prints, keepsake jewelry, and other meaningful tributes designed to reflect the bond you shared.
If you are not ready to make memorial selections right away, that is completely okay. Your dog will be held respectfully in our care until you are ready to finalize those choices. We are also here to help guide you through any of our options and show you examples so that you find the best option(s) to honor their memory.
Bringing Your Dog Home
If you choose private cremation, your dog’s cremains will be returned to you by one of our caring drivers. We coordinate delivery directly to ensure a smooth and respectful return.
While most returns take place within three to five business days, many families receive their dog sooner. Some memorial items require additional time to complete, and we always take the care needed to ensure every detail is handled thoughtfully.
Care at Every Step of the Cremation Process
From the moment your dog enters our care, we use VetLink pet tracking technology to communicate updates with your vet and ensure peace of mind for you. You can also trust that each step is handled with attention and respect, reflecting the trust families place in us during this time.
Our team understands that this process is not just about logistics. It is about honoring your companion.
Home Pickup Services
For families experiencing a loss at home, we offer home pickup services designed to ease uncertainty during an emotional moment. Our care team will walk you through what to expect, help coordinate timing, and answer any questions you may have along the way.
