Employee Spotlight: Bri Benchwick, Account Executive at Pet Cremation Services

Bri Benchwick, Account Executive

At Pet Cremation Services, we’re honored to introduce Bri Benchwick, our new Account Executive whose compassion, warmth, and dedication to service are already making an impact. Bri brings over 12 years of client relations experience in transportation and commercial landscaping to her new role, but it was a deeply personal experience that drew her to our mission. In 2015, Bri lost her beloved dog, Shuna. The care her family received — and the comfort of having Shuna memorialized — gave her a lasting sense of peace and connection. That experience now drives her daily work: helping others navigate one of the hardest moments of pet ownership with grace and empathy.

A typical day for Bri includes everything from home deliveries to checking in with veterinary clinics and managing PCS events. But it’s the relationships she builds — with clients and clinics alike — that bring her the most joy. “Everyone here is committed to making a hard thing easier,” she says. “I love my job so much. It’s life-affirming to be part of a team that truly cares.”

Beyond her role at Pet Cremation Services, there’s a lot more to Bri than meets the eye. She’s a twin, a proud mom to an almost 16-year-old son, and she is deeply rooted in the Columbus community. Having moved from California nearly 20 years ago, Bri has been involved with local festivals like ComFest and the Columbus Arts Festival, and she’s a Certified Tourism Ambassador through Experience Columbus. Her passion for people and connection shines through in everything she does — from supporting families through grief to volunteering in Columbus’ vibrant arts and music scene.

Q&A with Bri Benchwick of Pet Cremation Services

Can you tell us a bit about your background and what brought you to work at Pet Cremation Services?

In 2015, I had to say goodbye to my dog, Shuna, during a very tumultuous time. The service we received made such a difference — it felt like we had a piece of her forever. That experience stayed with me. After over a decade in client-focused roles, I realized I wanted to bring that same sense of comfort to others.

What does a typical day look like for you as an Account Executive?
It varies! I deliver cremains to families, visit veterinary clinics to check in and build relationships, make sales calls, and attend events. Every day is about connecting — making sure people feel supported and understood. And I am meeting and connecting with all the “clinic cats”. It seems as though every veterinarian has a clinic cat.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?
In my short time here, I can already tell how special this team is. Everyone is really behind the mission. We’re helping people in some of their most vulnerable moments — and doing it with care.

Do you have pets of your own? How do they influence your work?
Yes! I have Boo, a Chihuahua-Pug mix, who reminds me every day why this work matters. Helping people say goodbye to their family member with love and dignity is a mission I believe in.

What’s a quote or mantra you live by?
There’s a lyric from my friend’s band, Gasoline Heart: “When it’s all over and you’re underground, it’s not the love that you lost, it’s all the love that you found.” That line really resonates with me.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but you don’t have to face it alone. If you’re navigating your pet’s final days or looking for guidance after loss, Pet Cremation Services is here to help. We can help you honor the life, love, and legacy of your cherished companion with compassion.
